This is the first 12" vinyl pressing for Soul Psych and Soul Psych Records. It has been a long-time coming, so we went all out on this pressing.
We actually put it up to a poll on Instagram on which album should be our first to press, and Mars won out, despite being such a new entry in our catalog.
This pressing has a different track list from streaming, so we could work around vinyl's restrictions on run-time.
Includes unlimited streaming of Mars
via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

Quite possibly our most ambitious creative endeavor thus far... Mars captures a lot of the spirit of our early albums, but incorporates enough new styles to have it's own identity.
Experimenting with several new drum machines and production methods gives many of the tracks here a more electronic, almost dancey kind of a feel. Though, we still included songs that have a production style that's comparable to our first three albums to give a variety of sounds.
Hip-Hop was quite a big influence on several songs, as was 90's Madchester rave music. Listening to Gary Wilson's music also unlocked a lot of fresh creative pathways for us.
Lyrically, the album is kind of all over the place.
The track 'Bolero' has quite bleak lyrics of a man being left on a beach for dead. Compared to a track like 'Do Your Thing' that captures the "go with the flow" hippie mentality in such a satirical manner that it comes across as serious. 'Marmalade' tells the age old story of lust, whereas 'It's A Magical Place' describes a magical swamp that is paradise for all its inhabitants.
There are several instrumentals on this album and remixes by Brass Clouds and Garden of Earthly Delights. We let them both get as creative as possible and they both did phenomenal work.
This album is greatly inspired by: Gary Wilson, The Cure, New Order, 90's hip-hop, my bloody valentine, Ariel Pink and The Gorillaz.

The music is just outstanding and the lyrics go in all kinds of directions. I have enjoyed listening to this album so many times already. Wonderful music. gregnecastro
Fuzzy, swampy, psychedelic rock from Fuzzy Cracklins Swamp Records. Seems about right. At least some things are still in order in this crazy world. Turn it up and rock on! Andy K.
With its gradually-unspooling grooves and danceable beats, the debut effort from Swedish psych band Hollow Ship entices with every listen. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 8, 2020
